What we are about: - 5xxt.com was originaly going to become a tech news site, then it was going to be a site about the Game Boy Color- now its a site which dreams big to aim for high results. We are coming out with projects from each direction with different ideas which result in different organizations partnering with us. We want to show the world some of our products and ideas which we think would be good- and the best way is to sell those ideas!

Who are we: - 5xxt.com is a group of people working together. Trent Petronaitis is one of the key players in this project and has developed most concepts/set the site up. Another player Alex Byrnes has bought the domain and shared his thoughts on a few projects.

Why: - We want to show the world some interesting ideas which at this stage we have no way of funding if its an original idea or if its already made and we want to change what it is- we want to get the companys involved in those products thinking what we are- to create some interesting products for consumers.

We moved away from our original project (a tech news site) for a number of reasons, for one there are many and while we were going to bring a more personal touch to the news/reports we didn't think we would offer anything different which users would want to read- another reason was because we didn't get enough support to start the project.

Project 1# - Forums
Project 2# - Game Boy Micro Color
Project 3# - Rabbid Doll

Project 1# - Our first project was to set up a simple forum for users to come and post what ever they want as long as it was to a point. We wanted to create a simple forum for all users to talk abut anything- rather then strick topics which other sites offer.

We have picked BBPress as our forum software- which allows us to have a very streamlined forum and have the features users want- not tacky features which other forum software has become bloated with.

Project 2# - 5xxt.com takes a break from its usual coverage (wait we havn't even officaly launched yet :/) to break the news of something even more evil in our mists, while crazy people are releasing their own games- I thought lets be crazy and ask for a whole console to be made!

You see the GBC has a special place in my heart mainly because of its great range of titles, but I can't play these titles because well I have a GBC but you see- the dam device makes vision'd people blind and blind people - you see the screen is so shitty you can't even see what is on screen. No wonder I have eye problems- maybe I should sue Nintendo?

The point is what about a new age device- a limited release like the Mirco which plays the first generations of the Game Boy lines games- Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. The micro played only advance, and to this day many people regard it as the slickest handheld ever made. What if something simular came out with built in mp3 support and played GBC titles?

That would be my vision- which is posted on this page- to see either Nintendo or a third party come out with something along the lines of the device described here, because I belive there is a market for another handheld before Nintendo goes through with their Virual Console on DSi idea!

To the right is what I think Nintendo should come out with- a device like the one to the right, has the ability to plug in a Micro SD (whats with Nintendo's fetish with normal SD?) into the bottom for MP3 support- remember the GBmicro had a simular function but it was a seperate card and was a very limited release it was called the Play-Yan and it worked well as an mp3 player. If a Game Boy Micro Color ever comes out- it should have this function built in.

The device in my idea shouldn't have firmware ware or anything else which connects it to the internet like Nintendo's latest devices pride themselves in (it seems the only thing their updates are used for is to try and stop priacy- while not updating needed features) this will allow a simple plug in and go to either Game Cart or MP3. - Maybe if Nintendo does this they could have it so if there is a GBC VC on the DS then you could copy those games to this device and play them.

Also if Nintendo does do this- its a known fact that in some games the battery dies inside them which remembers the save data. What if this device could also back that save up and when you load the game write it back to the game- or something simular?

I think another thing about this device which will set it appart and why it is needed is because the GBC has never been viewable in a nice clear screen with backlit (you got the SP once, but there is better technology) also the battery pack would be epic!

We aim to have a full write up in PDF form which we will send to Nintendo of UK and USA (and maybe Japan if they got email) ^_^

The PDF we sent Nintendo - oh and the USA email to them has an extra "localize Earthbound already" in the email :) (USA version is a simple 'is there a product like this in the pipelines email and not the PDF)

Our Email - USA NINTENDO - Hi,
I was wondering if Nintendo has anything in the pipeline for a console which plays Gameboy and GameBoy Color games- similar to the GBmicro. I think such a device would sell and if one was coming would jump onto it.
Also I was wondering if there are any plans to make a DS complantation of all the Earthbound games or release them on the DS VC (if there is even one in the pipeline)?
Cheers,

If we get a reponce other then a computer- we will post

Our Email - UK Nintendo - (WITH PDF ATTACHED) hi,
I was wondering if Nintendo was working on a game boy/game boy color device similar to the GBmicro. I have attached a pdf of what I belive the product would do etc. and would appreciated if higher ups see this- regardless I'm just a crazy fan who wants to be herd and wants to play Game boy games again- is that so much to ask?
Cheers,

Project 3# - We started this project awhile ago, our first responce was we couldn't find a ubisoft email for America, or Europe for that matter - basically where it counted we couldn't contact anyone who was involved with Ubi-Art store so we went looking to our Australian brotheren for an email- which we found and we emailed the Sydney Support Center.

What we wanted was a rabbid doll which was like the Homestar runner doll the cheat- which when you kick it- it would make a noice- we wanted the simular for a rabbid doll so when you kick it - it would go "BAAAAHH".

I coined this idea with my brother who was quite insistant that it was awesome- suprised it didn't exist and what more said he would buy one.

Our Email:

Hi,
I was wondering if the Ubisoft Store/UbiArt would one day release a Rabbid plush toy which when you squeeze or kick it goes 'baah' cause that shit would print money- and I'd buy one.
Cheers,
Everyone who wants one.

Their Email (Sydney Support - UBISOFT):

Hi Trent
Awesome idea, of course. Keep an eye on Ubi-Art. I don’t know if that exact plush is planned but new Rabbids items are still hitting the store. The latest was the new PVC set (Altair, Prince, Sam Fisher, Raving Rabbids).
I’d like to see that plush too, although not in this office. Everyone around here seems to have a ‘bahhh’ ringtone or email alert and it’s driving me nuts.
Regards
Owen Hughes
DRM Manager
Ubisoft Australia

We thank Owen Hughes for emailing us- but our hunt for a Rabbid doll isn't ending here- be it 1st party or 3rd party. Maybe we should make our own?

We decided to do some more snooping around the Ubi-Art store and we found an email address special orders and other things- what did we do? We sent of an email to that email address- and we hope to get an email back here is the email.

Our Email:

To whom it may concern,
I would like to suggest a product which I would like to see on Ubi-Art. As a fan of the rabbid series of games, I'm surprised that this has not been done before. I would like to see a product which captures my imagination and laughter when playing these games as a toy.
This said toy is a rabbid plush which when you kick it goes "baaahhh" - very much in fashion to say The Cheat Doll from Homestar runner (which isn't affiliated with ubisoft but is a great example on how this said toy operates).
I would really like to see this product on Ubi-Art and I know a few people who would be interested in buying said product if it existed.
Cheers,
Trent

With that sent- what will come? Well we will post and developments/replies
