It’s been awhile since I did a cooking with trinest article. In fact I’ve only done two and the last one also was an article. The original was a great look at something that I liked making and eating- the Honey, Cheese and Jam sandwiches which I have been making for a long time- its not something complicated or daring, but its something which has a different pallet which tastes nice.

Tonight I’ve been home alone- well pretty much with the old folks working, I had to make my own dish/meal for tea. And I pretty much took the original option I had which was to cook the premade stir-fry which was bought and in the fridge.

I cooked it all and enjoyed it, it was really nice- much better then how my parents usually cook it. For the most part because I have added a few tricks I’ve learnt from my brother when it comes to cooking to it. He believes in adding water- as it doesn’t shrivel the meat up. Which my parents never do. So I did it tonight- and the meat while it wasn’t perfect, was a nice and juicy and  much more plump with the sauce then what it would of been.

The reason why I started this article was because Ten’s new serious Master Chief Australia is on tonight- in fact its on right now. And it for me is something which is good to watch, mainly because while its a game show its not over the top- its all about the cooking. The second which I said to my friend who hates these types of shows- is that when its about a topic which your passionate about the topic the show is about- its always going to be something you watch because its true to you. In some ways the biggest looser raises to me the question that if I got fat- would I ever get to that point? Mainly because I’m not that fit/skinny, at the moment- but I see the show as something people do to change their lives, and get fit- rather then loose weight. Its about enjoying life- and same goes for this new show from Ten.

But something I like watching is the reactions of the judges in this food show. Its pretty good to see what people say, especially the food critic- who knows his pallet, which just adds a spice to what the show produces. Especially with the Varity of people and food you see- the judges option really gives you an idea about what the food was like.

To me I dare say I can call myself a pie critic- because I know when I taste a good pie- especially for what I like in a pie. For me my favourite flavour has always been Cheese and Bacon pies- and this I’ve prided myself in tasting the various stores around Australia’s different take on a pie and especially that flavour. When that flavour isn’t available the classic meat pie will do- and even then its interesting to see how different people make a pie.

Most use a dirty all purpose meat slab- and its very very discussing. For me the major part is the pastry- and how depending how you eat it, if it tastes good with the meat- in fact they both have to work together, but I love a good pastry dish.

Anyway that’s Cooking with Trinest for the day.
