EA takes pride in its over-rated games and fancy web designs. But like a bad episode of 24 when things go wrong for EA. They go wrong.
For those who don’t know what I’m talking about. Let me fill you in. Early this week reports started coming in about the latest EA game for the Nintendo Wii console Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 to well not contain the only selling point of the game in Australia. That is fokes the online mode which supported up to 32 players online.
Did you know people WANTED this game?
Most people took the first report as a grain of salt. Calming the person got the other Nintendo Wii Medal of Honor game – Vanguard. This changed as the hours continued as more reports came and the days to launch ticked down.
A day before launch things looked bleak, but many gamers had the hope that EA will magically switch on this mode as soon as the launch happened. Or the servers were not up which is why the mode did not appear. This was shot down with a great blow when the launch of the game happened on Thursday. This launch was a quite one thanks to the Internet. Why? Because like I said at the start the only reason why people wanted to bother with this crap was to get the online mode and the fact the controls are described as ‘better than Metroid Prime 3′. As soon as it became official that this mode was left out this game became another shitty WWII game.
So the heat was on and gamers wanted answers. As well as the press who emailed EA. Well what did they get back? Only a simple answer saying they are collecting the information and looking into it. I dare say there is nothing to look into, you fucked up big and no-one is going to buy your game. Either recall all the games or piss off. Simple as that. I think they took the later as the days ticked over there was no more to hear from EA, not even a boo. It was as if someone payed EA out to shut up about this game. To forget this never happened.
For those who did bother and buy this game for the sake of looking for the mode or still didn’t know about it yet. The game was very low respected. Many people reported back that most game stores had the game. But the copies of the game was about 2 copies if your lucky. Also they promptly returned the game the day after they bought it and many preorders were turned down due to this crap with the people who ran the show not very surprised.
So this is were we stand now, gamers are pissed and want answers. The press are left hanging for an answer as well and as for the stores they are pissed they didn’t get a sale. Some people even took it further and reported EA to the ACCC and also sent them treating emails. Lovely.
So EA, are you happy now that the only good game you publish – wait I mean will publish is Spore and that every other game you publish has turned into crap? Are you happy now that gamers in Australia don’t give a shit about your company anymore?
Oh and those curious what people replaced MoH for? They went and bought NitroBike for only $44. Nice, I think I will pick that up instead too.
Guys I hope you will wait for the review of NitroBike in a few days time. Totaly worth it.
I hope this is all a big mastake. But if it is then I wont buy it for awhile. No More Heroes is calling.
