The package came this morning. I admit I expected more. The product after all was hyped up by the media too much as the next ‘awesome thing from Nintendo for all to have super fun happy time with’. Dubed the ‘Wii condon’ the name explained it all – a jacket which fitted over the Wiimote protecting all areas from ‘leaks’ or ‘spills’ the design heck is super strong.
So I put these little jackets onto my Wiimotes. Now I play later in the day to see what was the fuss.
For those who don’t know. The Wiimote Jacket is a jacket which fits over the Wiimote. A latex glove which inhances grip and protection. These were not around durring the Wii launch, but now if you buy any Wiimote or Wii console they come with them. But those who have a Wii already check your local Nintendo site to see how to order them.
When you first use them it feels a tad bulky. The extra weight feels werid and heavy when lounging about. All is not lost though, when you get used to it the grip is there, in the sence I have more control when viewing things and selecting things.
When you play a game such as Eledees the same princaple from the menus apply here. More grip, more control and easier to get those silly little Eledees (Elebits in America).
The sad thing is the jacket must be taken off and on if you want to do anything with the batteries. The power button seems much easier to use now, before it was a hassle to turn of the console now even with the grip over it – the hassle is gone.
Over all I belive these are worth while, but the negetives might make it a novalty after awhile like the wrist straps.
