Australian DS buyer’s guide
There’s around 4 more days till the Nintendo DS comes out in Australia, read this buyer’s guide to find out a good place to get it.

Preordering
Most online preorder places will rip you off, as in high prices or high shipping fees. DVD Crave is a decent online shop with good service.
Offline shops also have preordering, EB games is a good shop to preorder if there’s one near you. If not try BigW or Target.

We will now look at ones for on the 24.2.05+ so if you want the DS at a latter date or don’t want to preorder.

BigW
A great shop if you don’t have an EB. They already have demo boxes and are advertising it. There prices are usually decent.

EB Games/Electronics Boutique
A great shop which is in many locations. Prices are decent and the shop also has demo units for the Nintendo DS.

Target
First place to show advertising for the DS (besides EB), decent prices.

K-mart
No advertising yet or nothing

Online – Now before you get all picky at me here me out, we all know online is coming, but when that’s a question. Nintendo have always been picky with online remember those to add-ons to the Nintendo GC? America sore one or both, but when it comes to the outer areas like Australia or Europe there website still says TBA for that hardware. So by making the system online at launch Nintendo tells us by doing so that online is coming because they have done that feature with it at the start.

Hard disk – This idea might sound farfetched but Nintendo could of used a mini storage bay on the DS or inside like those memory sticks you can find for your computer but Nintendo should of made them much smaller. This will allow Nintendo to make large updates for the DS’s hardware and get you to download it and transfer it to the DS. But I suppose you could do that already but with limited space.

DS sp – Now this isn’t something that Nintendo should do. I only buy new handhelds if they play new games. I don’t care about all the upgraded stuff. But Nintendo should stop the sp I know you like shrinking stuff e.g. The GB pocket and the GBAsp but buy doing this shrinking isn’t an option with the DS its already to small by what people have been telling me about the buttons.

Browser – I know this will mean making sites again but pocket size. But if Nintendo already has this in the works this would be good. Because say your driving along find a hotspot and you need to know some cheats (ha-ha needed to use that example) you would go online go search for cheats maybe Nintendo will supply them or another fan site will? But maybe you needed hints or wanted to know how to beet a boss because it’s too hard. Then it will be there, this is another item that Nintendo should have put at launch.

Gamecube game capable – This idea has both pros and cons. The pros are that you will be able to play Gamecube games. But the cons are quite bigger, you would be experiencing battery life problems like the psp and at the same time be caring a handheld around the size of a psp maybe much bigger. Nintendo should never do this with today’s technology.

Virtua Quest
Virtua Quest takes place in the near future around a virtual-reality environment called Nexus. Similar to the Matrix, the Acropolis residents plug themselves digitally into the Nexus, an alternate existence for most. As time passed by, Nexus became a haven for random item appearances. So-called Treasure Hunters come into the picture, entering Nexus’ servers, and taking what they could find for their own fortunes. Their search for these lost data becomes more of leisure to them. However, the story progresses when an evil organization called the Judgement Six is introduced. The syndicate hacks into these Nexus server, and is able to control these Treasure Hunters in hopes of breaking into the main server. Allowing this to happen will cause chaos to the real Acropolis, making it collapse into the ocean from its floating-island environment.

So what makes it perfect for the DS? One if you look at the screens for the game you can see you can find items. Just like Another Codes feature to do this it can be used on Virtua Quest to make the game feel much better.

Simmuar to Phantasy Star Online you go though a training like level or area.
Now for the Idea…

The Grapple beam can be used by clicking on the Nintendo DS’s screen alowing you to go to area to area with out walking around the town or other surroundings your in. The top screen will show a hp/sp metter and the other things which were around the screen on the Nintendo Gamecube version.
